Like so many American Dream stories, this is one of perseverance, hard work, and innovation. It starts in 2008 when Jeanne Manning, a stay-at-home Mom of three children decided she wanted to help her family financially by investing in real estate.

After researching locations around the country, Jeanne, and her husband Pat, decided Austin Texas was the perfect place to start and purchased their first foray into real estate, a duplex. While Jeanne utilized a third-party Property Manager, she always took a hands-on approach with her properties and traveled to Austin several times a year to visit the properties, meet with the Property Manager, and introduce herself to her Residents. This experience set in motion Jeanne’s desire to one day manage her own properties.

By 2018, the decision was made to expand into Colorado and eventually move out of the Austin market. Beginning with the Bonfoy Apartments and 1010 Delaware Drive in Colorado Springs, Jeanne acquired more than 50 residential units. Later, we added the Geneva Drive Apartments in Aurora, resulting in 62 units under management. In the meantime, we worked with several third-party Property Managers in the Colorado area, only to be disappointed in the responsiveness, low quality, and high cost associated with these companies.

Jeanne and Patrick decided it was time to start Mile High Properties, hiring several of the best maintenance and property management personnel they had worked with over the years.

Today, Mile High Properties LLC (MHP) is owned and operated by Patrick Manning and provides a full range of property management services for a focused set of assets in the Colorado Springs area. Services include: collecting rent, oversee the day to day of each property, maintenance work orders (opening/closing), answer any phones/text/emails daily, type letters to residents (vacate letters, move in/out letters, violations, late rent, etc), Renewals of current residents, process applications for new move ins which includes rental verifications, employment verifications, running credit/criminal background checks, collect funds, getting approval from the owner, creating a lease and getting all parties to sign in a timely manner, scheduling move in/out, handling evictions/collections and providing customer service to any and all applicants/residents and staff.

Jeanne Manning passed away in April 2023. Her legacy continues to provide the foundation of Mile High Properties’ mission to provide high quality, affordable, and responsive property management services. We know what it is like to put your life’s work into property, and be dependent on a third-party manager to provide the care those assets need.

Jeanne always believed there was a “market” for any property Owners who wanted to capture significant financial returns, while providing a high-quality housing service to their Residents. Today, MHP reflects Jeanne’s vision of providing affordable, comfortable, and safe housing to working-class Residents in a courteous, responsive, and professional manner.
